So nice :)

I love the fact that I get to stay home with my kids. It snowed yesterday and now there's no school today so we are just hanging out at home. Jane and Elias are building with Legos, eating pancakes (which, by the way, I tried to sneak some bananas into the pancakes but Jane is too smart for me! She could defenitely tell a difference!), and watching Little Bear. It is so pretty outside. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with my babies.

The cutest thing happened the other day. I took the kids to Schnucks and before we walked from the car to the store I told the kids to stay close to me in the parking lot and to hold hands. Usually there is a lot of fussing about having to hold hands but not this time. Elias was wearing his puffy winter coat and Jane was in her pink winter coat. Jane was wearing mittens but Elias was not and he gladly held her hand. I asked her to hold my hand with her free hand but she said she couldn't because she needed to keep Elias' hand warm. She cupped her hands around his hand and never let go until we got to the Salvation Army bell ringer and I let them both put in some change. I just thought it was so cute to see her taking care of him by keeping his hand warm :)
While I was sick last Sunday Jared took it upon himself to do the dishes. He later informed me that while he was doing the dishes Jane walked by him and said, "I didn't know you could do dishes!" HAHAHA I love it!

SUPER MOM

So I have come to the conclusion that mom's are not allowed to get sick.
But since we DO get sick from time to time I will be printing this to hang on my fridge because in the event that I get sick and am in the horizontal position in my bed, I do not want to hear the following:

What's for dinner?
Where's my blank?
Have you seen my blank?
Can you fix my blank?
So and so hit me!
So and so pulled my hair!
Can you get me a drink?
Can you get me a snack?
Can you wipe me?
Binky! Binky!
We're out of blank.
Get up!
Mommy!

I am laughing now, but wouldn't it be easier if mom's could just be healthy all the time?

Black Friday!!!!

I love to shop! Especially the day after Thanksgiving at 3am!!! Sara and I went to Kohl's at 3am and waited in line so that I could get a great deal on a Christmas Tree. We met MaTyka there and she had words with a VERY rude lady. After Kohl's we made our way to Target and stood in line for some Pyrex, toys, and movies. A man in front of us in line got a little feisty when a rather tall man decided to cut in line and he even shoved the guy! I witnessed my first fight on Black Friday! I can't believe it but we continued to shop until 1 in the afternoon!!! I AM POOPED but it was a blast!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! I just love the Macy's Day Parade, and so do my kids! It is so fun to watch them dance around the living room and get so excited about the huge balloons. I have a feeling we will be watching the parade every year together :)

My Janie

For a few days this was your favorite thing to wear. Pajamas with a ribbon tied around your waist, cowgirl boots, a hat I found on clearance at Children's Place for a dollar, and your stick horse in hand. I just love your imagination!

Turkey Time!

 I embroidered on muslin fabric
Covered the mat with scrapbook paper and framed the embroidery
i LOVE the mashed potatoes :)
Their little faces kill me! :)

Cheap and easy fall decoration

This is my candy corn tree. It was so easy to make! Just find some sticks from your yard and hot glue candy corn onto the ends. I filled my vase to the top with rock salt and covered the top with candy corn. I already had the vase on hand and the ribbon was left over from another project. Total cost = $1 bag of candy corn.
Here is the candy corn tree from Womans Day magazine that gave me the idea. So cute!

I did it!

So my husband's cousin's wife Angie got me into embroidering this summer. I thought, sure why not add to my list of crafts to tackle! Needless to say I fell in LOVE with this new hobby of mine!

I love fall :)

Fall just wouldn't be the same without our annual trip to Eckerts! Elias is sitting on a HUGE pumpkin that was a whopping $50!! I love you Eckerts but I'll be sticking with the $3 pumpkins at Aldi :)

Four years old!

This year you turned four! I can't believe how fast you're growing! We celebrated with family and friends and you had a great time playing on your new swingset :)

So I'm new at this......

I have never done this before but her it goes, I guess I'll give this blogging thing a try. Right now I spend my days as a stay at home mom to my two beautiful children, Jane and Elias. Jane is four and Elias is two. I also spend my days as a wife to my wonderful husband, Jared. I used to scrapbook all of our adventures in life but that seems to have gone by the wayside. I still take lots of pictures and write down everything in my calendar. My hopes are that friends and family members might use this blog as a way to keep up with our hectic, but exciting life, and that I will be able to keep up with this a little better than I have with scrapbooking :)
